Senior Researcher at the Governance Programme of European Forest Institute. He is currently working as a Coordinator of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance and leader of EFI Global Forest Governance Team. Yitagesu has been working on advancing knowledge of forest governance, restoration, drivers of land use changes and policy analysis in Africa, Asia, and Latin America for the past 12 years. His most recent work focuses on public private partnership in forest sector, climate mitigation and forest sector reform. He has been involved in various projects as lead investigator, project coordinator and project manager.
