Chris Williamson
Architect, practice leader, and RIBA President Elect dedicated to shaping sustainable cities and empowering future generations of architects.

Joining the ARCHITECTURE: Design & Practice panel discussion is Chris Williamson, RIBA President Elect assuming the role in September 2025 and serving until 2027. He co-founded Weston Williamson in 1985, growing it from a two-partner practice in a spare bedroom to over 250 colleagues across five international studios. The practice first came to prominence with the Jubilee Line London Bridge Station project in 1990 and has since become renowned for city-shaping infrastructure and the transformative development opportunities these projects create.
Throughout his career, Chris has championed sustainable, well-designed public transport systems as a catalyst for better urban living. Passionate about lifelong learning and the many specialisms within architecture, he credits the RIBA with playing a vital role in Weston Williamson’s success and is committed to ensuring it continues to inspire and support the next generation of architects.
