Joining the BUILDING: Craft & Construction panel discussion is Clunie Fretton, a renowned sculptor, master carver, and gilder working at the intersection of heritage and contemporary craft.
Her work can be seen in the UK’s Houses of Parliament, St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and churches and cathedrals across the UK. She graduated with Distinction in Ornamental Woodcarving & Gilding from the City & Guilds of London Art School in 2015, later serving as Carving Fellow before establishing her own practice. A Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust scholar and member of the Master Carvers’ Association, her award-winning work spans wood and stone carving, bronze, plaster, casting, and gilding. She teaches to sustain heritage skills.
