Joanna Wachowiak MA, RIBA is a senior director at John Simpson Architects. She has worked in the practice alongside John Simpson for over 30 years designing a variety of projects ranging from cultural institutions involving historic buildings such as The King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace redevelopment, to numerous educational establishments including new schools at Eton, the School of Architecture at Notre Dame and new College buildings at Oxford and Cambridge, The Royal College of Music as well as various urban design masterplans for new settlements, residential developments and urban infill sites.
She has mentored many young employees throughout her office career and taught at summer schools organised by The University of Buckingham and The Centre for the Study of Classical Architecture at Cambridge University. She has also acted a visiting critic at the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture and always takes a keen interest and derives true fulfilment from sharing her knowledge and professional experience of practising Classical Architecture.
